“Hey, buddy. Want to go on a little date with me?”

His eyes instantly lit up with joy, “Yes, momma! Where are we going? Let’s go!”  He didn’t even give me time to respond before racing to the front door and digging through a basket in search of shoes.

I smiled and followed to help.  We were only going for a walk, but deeming it intentional time to connect with my little guy made it special. Four is such a sweet age, one I’ve come to favor for its innocence and enthusiasm.  “I was thinking we’d go for a walk, just you and me.  Sound good?” I asked.

Pulling his little boots on he climbed to his feet beaming, “Ready!”
